THis week we will continue with our reading and small group instruction. We will focus on cause and effect this week with our reading series. We will also begin to work on the short i sound. We will be reading books on our independent reading level during reading groups. Our writing this week will focus on creativity and using our 4 square to guide our writing. We will read the book "Not a Box" and use our imaginations to create our own not a box story.
We will begin to decompose numbers in math. We will focus on ways to make 10. We will do this through games, songs and ten frames.
This week we begin a new unit in Science. We will learn about Force and Motion. We will examine the forces of push/pull, circular motion, back/forth and straight. We will do this through experiments and trying to make various objects move. This will be a fun unit.
