In reading, we will continue to learn how to make predictions and how to infer. We will learn how to read verb ending s,ed,and ing. We will also learn about possessive nouns. We will learn that this means something belongs to someone. We will continue with small groups as well as word study. We will begin to pick up the pace with word study and switch from one sort every two weeks to one sort a week. This week in writing we will learn how to write friendly letters. We will conclude this week with writing a friendly letter to Veterans.
We will continue to work on place value in math. We will be looking at recognizing numbers in terms of tens and ones and determining how many tens and ones are in a number. We will do this through many different activities.
We will take two days this week to talk about Veteran's day and why it is important. We will then begin to learn about the terms past, present, and future. We will talk about these terms and look how how our communities, schools, dress, and cars have changed and will change over time. We will also use these words in reference to a timeline.
Thank you to our field trip volunteers! We had a great time visiting the Rappahannock River.
